The Old Vicarage

The Old vicarage was built early in the twentieth century, it's architecture is post-victorian,and it was built to take advantage of the high ground it stands on to give good views over the village and surrounding countryside.Rowland and Valerie Milton the present owners, care for the garden here, and their fund-raising for the village includesentertaining people from far and wide on opening days during the summer, this very attractive place provides a great many visitors with a very good afternoon out with it's landscaping and mature planting.
A Strawberry stroll----July 2005

The very first thing you see when entering the garden is the fine pair of Monkey-Puzzle treeswhich stand like sentinels each side of the entrance, judging by the size they must date back to when the house was built. The strawberry stroll was organised to raise funds for the Church and Parish Rooms, and was well advertised localy and in the Wellington paper.
The following pictures illustrate how well it went, the weather was, if anything a little to hot, but this didn't deterthe crowds of people who came, had their strawberry tea, bought a plant, and wandered round this beautiful garden.
This picture is a general view of the stalls, the covered area at the far end is where the teas were served.
